Educational Training Attended by Agency Staff


RECOMMENDED ACTION:

RECEIVE report on conferences or trainings attended by agency staff.

SUMMARY:

Agency staff occasionally attends conferences or trainings at Agency expense that are pertinent to their roles in pursuing the Agency’s mission.  These events allow the staff to stay current and participate in the development of transportation practices and policies related to their roles.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Expenses related to staff training are included in the Travel and Training item in the adopted Agency budget.
DISCUSSION:

On February 26, 2018, Grant Leonard and Virginia Murillo attended a 2018 Advanced California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Workshop in San Jose. The workshop was hosted by the Association for Environmental ProfessionalsTransportation projects implemented by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County, as well as partner agencies’ non-transportation land use developments reviewed by the Transportation Agency frequently require compliance with CEQA. The workshop covered complex CEQA trends and recent case law. 

 

A memorandum summarizing sessions they attended during the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Workshop is attached.
