RECEIVE report on conferences or trainings attended by agency staff.

Agency staff attend conferences or trainings at Agency expense that are pertinent to their roles in pursuing the Agency’s mission.  These events allow the staff to stay current and participate in the development of transportation practices and policies related to their roles.

On June 23-26, 2019, Christina Watson attended the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Rail Conference in Toronto, Canada. This was an excellent networking opportunity with rail professionals around the country. 

On June 23 - 26, 2019, Rich Deal attended the Institute of Transportation Engineers Western District Conference in Monterey, CA.  Rich served on the conference organizing committee and ran the conference technical tours for 400 conference delegates. Rich attended sessions about research and implementation of roundabout designs for crash reductions and Roundabout design solutions with railroad crossings.  Summaries for each of these activities are attached.
