Conferences and Training Attended by Agency Staff


RECOMMENDED ACTION:

RECEIVE report on conferences or trainings attended by agency staff.

SUMMARY:

Agency staff attend conferences or trainings at Agency expense that are pertinent to their roles in pursuing the Agency’s mission.  These events allow the staff to stay current and participate in the development of transportation practices and policies related to their roles.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Expenses related to staff training are included in the Travel and Training item in the adopted Agency budget.
DISCUSSION:

On May 5 - 7, 2021, Todd Muck attended the virtual American Planning Association's national conference. This annual conference is an opportunity to learn how different parts of the United States are addressing common issues and learn about best practices and innovation in the planning profession. Todd's report on the conference is included as a Web Attachment

 

From May 11-14, 2021, Christina Watson participated in the virtual WTS International Conference. Christina's report on the conference highlighting sessions she attended is included as a Web Attachment

 

On May 18, 2021, Christina Watson participated in the virtual American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Legislative Conference. Christina's report on the conference is included as a Web AttachmentHer report includes an infographic produced by American Public Transportation Association highlighting current trends in transit.
